Pilar Wyman and Jan Wright at PNW’s Sept. 15 meeting

If you missed Pilar Wyman’s presentation in Cleveland or if you would like to hear and learn more, note that she will be leading a three-hour session at the ASI Pacific Northwest Chapter’s 2018 fall meeting on Saturday, September 15 in Vancouver, WA. Pilar will be joined by Jan Wright, the anchor for the panel discussion. The deadline for Early Bird rates is August 31, so now is a great time to register.

Pilar will discuss indexing for digital publications, giving an overview of the current state of the field and the software, skills, and training that indexers need to work in it. She will also give a glimpse into future possibilities and trends and cover the essentials of communicating with publishers. She and Jan will discuss the recently published resources Benefits of eIndexes, Questions for Indexers to Ask Clients (Authors/Publishers), and Matrix Flowcharts of Software Tools, Processes, and Outputs. (See the May 18 blog post on this site for more information.)
